About Jarravale Alpacas
&
Miniature Anilmal Farm

Lawrence & Josie live 30 Km West of Mackay in the beautiful Pioneer Valley. Jarravale Alpacas was established in 2005, when our Alpaca Stud first began we had only 10 white Alpacas. At this stage our main goal was to grow our numbers and get a market for these beautiful animals around the Pioneer valley. As we live on a Cane farm it was quiet easy to find the perfect spot for our Alpacas.

Soon demand changed and request came for coloured Alpacas and coloured Yarn as knitters of this beautiful fleece require natural fiber. It was time to blend some colours into our herd, currently we have Browns, Mahogany, Rose Grey, light and dark Fawns, Blacks and the herd still continues to grow.

With the sales of crias and Adult Wethers as guard animals on the increase there is a demand to continue our herd breeding. Our goal is to breed Alpacas with good conformation with the finest fleece possible. We had attended an alpaca conference in Victoria to learn what we could about these lovely animals, we soon worked out there is a big difference in farming Alpacas in Victoria to the Wet Tropics of North Queensland.

We tailor made a workshop for our region, farming Alpacas in tropical North Queensland. Our workshops consist of one day to have as much hands on experience as possible. We hold these work shops as the demand requires. Jarravale has been set up to facilitate Alpacas and their requirements for ease of handling and management.

Future improvements to facilitate are always on the drawing board and some day we will be able to hold farm stays for families to enjoy a piece of Paradise.
